Edge of Darkness

(movie review)

Movies are so much more enjoyable to watch in cinemas when the foul languages are completely uncensored. Green Zone too was filled with the F word and yet none of them were censored at all. Anyway, Edge of Darkness is basically like a Die Hard movie. The difference is that Edge of Darkness is more emotional and engaging… and it’s Mel Gibson instead of Bruce Willis. Gibson plays a role of an old but very experienced police detective (he’s arkwardly strong for his age and size) whose daughter got shot and killed right beside him. He went on a solo investigation to uncover the truth of the murder and to avenge his daughter. Now even from the first half of the film, it’s already more interesting than watching Green Zone. However, I was able guess who the bad guys are from the beginning because these actors always play villain roles. And of course, there were some things that didn’t make sense to me but heck, this is considered quite good compared to all the other films released this year thus far.

Did you know? This is a remake of a 1985 TV series of the same name.

How was Mel Gibson’s acting? He still has it in him but he does look very very old.

Favourite line: “…oh you’re a smart fucker.”

Verdict: Between Green Zone and this film, I’d recommend you to watch this one because I personally enjoyed it more than Green Zone. This is a very decent film to watch if you had nothing better to do.
