Verdict: Over 60% on Rotten Tomatoes? You gotta be kidding me. Some of the girls in the cinema were absolutely terrified but to me, it’s just disappointing, especially when it’s by Wes Craven. I felt that merging humour and horror didn’t quite work out this time around. There are a couple of decent scares but to those who has seen the first three installments or any other similar type of slasher films, they’d probably still find it quite cliche. The cheesy dialogues are almost intolerable. If you’re still interested in watching after reading this, do not watch it at our local Malaysian cinemas because it’s heavily censored. You have been warned.
Replying the quotes from the film: (SPOILER BEGINS HERE) “Fuck Bruce Willis.” At least when he actually dies, he saves Earth from a Houston-sized meteor. “Don’t fuck with the original!” Wes Craven, Kevin Williamson, I believe you just did, with your own one. (SPOILER ENDS HERE)
Home alone! I was wondering if the Charlie Walker dude in the movie was the kid from Home Alone (Macaulay Culkin). It wasn’t. But close. It’s his brother, Rory Culkin. Man, they look alike!
