Synopsis: “The Umbrella Corporation’s deadly T-virus continues to ravage the Earth, transforming the global population into legions of the flesh eating Undead. The human race’s last and only hope, ALICE, awakens in the heart of Umbrella’s most clandestine operations facility and unveils more of her mysterious past as she delves further into the complex. Without a safe haven, Alice continues to hunt those responsible for the outbreak; a chase that takes her from Tokyo to New York, Washington, D.C. and Moscow, culminating in a mind-blowing revelation that will force her to rethink everything that she once thought to be true. Aided by new found allies and familiar friends, Alice must fight to survive long enough to escape a hostile world on the brink of oblivion. The countdown has begun” (Sony Pictures).
Verdict: Sigh, shall we try some reverse psychology? Absolutely brilliant, especially the plot where they made all four of the past instalments seem more pointless than they already were and then had this sequel’s situation practically the same as the first instalment. The director got his wife, Milla Jovovich, naked on screen once again & had her character, Alice, escaping an Umbrella facility from the evil artificial intelligence, Red Queen,… once a-fucking-gain. Like a video game, she has to go through stage by stage until she meets the final boss. On top of that, the other favourite characters from the original game series make their appearance on this film franchise for the first time in their original character outfits! And Alice on the other hand is in a Dino Crisis-like costume (another similar type of game from Capcom as well). Awesome cosplaying. Then they also have Li Bing Bing (as Ada Wong) talking as though she’s giving English lessons on a Chinese TV program. Plenty of slow motion action, posing, sex appeal for the fan boys, and the black guy dies. It’s also so unpredictable that the final fight at the end of the film is human characters versus human characters. Yeah, of course, we’re totally bored of watching humans fight zombies and huge ass monsters! Resident Evil: Retribution is the best movie ever.
Second opinion: “So corny that even I couldn’t stand it” (Iris Loong).
To watch in 3D? Yes, because the normal version of the film at the premiere screening was blur as fuck.
Malaysian censorship: Nothing to censor besides Jovovich’s nudity. But it’s not like we haven’t seen her naked in the previous instalments. Which husband does that to his wife anyway? Only Paul W.S. Anderson… for almost every instalment in this franchise. Sick mofo.

Special thanks to beloved Nuffnang once again for the invitations to the premiere.
