Synopsis: “After a zombie becomes involved with the girlfriend of one of his victims, their romance sets in motion a sequence of events that might transform the entire lifeless world” (GSC).
Verdict: A tale of romance between a pale-faced undead pretty boy and his food (who happens to look like Kristen Stewart!) that surprisingly doesn’t suck. What amazes me is that even with such a concept, the film turned out considerably funny, genuinely sweet, uncheesy, satirical and philosophical. Nicholas Hoult’s zombie performance as ‘R’ certainly made a helluva difference with the spot on facial expressions and narration. Sure, the film has plenty of serious plot holes (refer to the spoiler section below) and its poor CG for “bonies” are unforgivable, but if logic was left aside, you might find Warm Bodies quite enjoyable.
Second opinion: “Nice; very cute” (Iris Loong).
Malaysian censorship: I doubt anything’s cut at all.
Rating: 3.5 / 5

Plot holes: Shouldn’t there be at least a few zombies without a limb or two? How do the “bonies” see without eyes? Also, they cannot communicate so how do they tell Marcus (Rob Corddry) and the other common zombies that they want R (Nicholas Hoult) and Julie (Teresa Palmer) captured? Colonel Grilio (John Malkovich) is an uptight leader of the survivors so even when a gun is pointed at him, shouldn’t a character like him be risking his life to raise alarm instead of allowing a zombie to run off in the territory full of survivors, not to mention with his own daughter? Many of the zombies are shot multiple times so technically when they “come back to life”, shouldn’t they die anyway with all the bullets still inside of them? The zombies that aren’t completely “cured” yet at the end, shouldn’t they die as well ’cause according to R in the movie, they’d die of hunger too if they don’t consume human flesh. It seems that Marcus and that bunch of the zombies are gradually turning into humans again only because they “feel something” after seeing R and Julie holding hands, so what triggers the hearts of all the other zombies to beat again? #JustSaying.
