The annual French Art & Film Festival (FAFF) is back for the 13th consecutive year in Malaysia with more great entertainment and art activities

Yes, it’s that awesome time of the year again, French culture lovers! Presented by Martell French cognac, FAFF is back with a new set of entertainment and art delights lined up that will allow us to enjoy the French culture and lifestyle right here in Malaysia.

Starting the Festival off will be the screenings of 12 French films under GSC International Screens at GSC Mid Valley, GSC Pavilion KL and GSC 1 Utama in the Klang Valley from the 15th May till 1st June and in GSC Gurney Plaza Penang from 5th till 15th June. Many of the selected titles are award nominees or award winners of international film festivals from around the world. All the French movies screened are with English subtitles and manual censorship like all previous occasions.

Check out the FAFF 2014 trailer below to have a glimpse at all the movies that are in store for us for this year;

The highlights of this year’s Film Festival are all romance flicks: The Past (Le passé) featuring The Artist‘s Berenice Bejo, Fly me to the moon (Un plan parfait), Love is in the air (Amour et turbulences) and the two films featuring Da Vinci Code‘s Audrey Tautou: Mood indigo (L’écume des jours), tragic love story set in a surreal Paris, and Delicacy (La délicatesse), a romance comedy about a successful business executive widow who falls in love with an unexceptional subordinate. All 5 of these titles have limited screenings only so do check GSC’s local listings before it’s too late.

The title Camille Rewinds (Camille Redouble), a romance comedy about a woman who’s just broken up with her husband wakes one day back to her past when she was 16 year old, was screened at the media launch and I absolutely loved it. This year’s two animated films, Approved for adoption (Couleur de peau : miel) and Princes and princesses (Princes et Princesses), look pretty unique in style, non-mainstream animation fans are recommended to check them out.

In conjunction with this festival, a new logo and leader for GSC International Screens will be unveiled. This new logo and leader will reflect an updated yet fresh look for GSC International Screens, which has come a long way since it was first launched in 1999.

And like last year and previous occasions, FAFF will also be having French markets, cognac/champagne tasting, art exhibitions and performances in KL so do go check it out at these locations and date;
