GSC turns blue to spread autism awareness, watch Redha to contribute

gsc autism month redha

RM1 to be donated for every Redha ticket sold at GSC

It’s April’s Fool day but also the beginning of the Autism Awareness Month (and Earth Month). In conjunction with that, Golden Screen Cinemas (GSC) have turned their online platforms and social media blue and got their on-ground staffs to wear a badge, all to help spread the awareness about this condition.

What is autism?

Autism is a condition that affects brain development causing difficulties in social interaction, verbal and non-verbal communication. It is more prevalent in boys than girls. Autism cuts across all racial, ethnic and social boundaries.

Awareness on this condition is very important, and is the first step towards acceptance and empathy for all individuals and their families who have to deal with the social stigma society has on autism.

If you wish to contribute, catch the upcoming drama Redha (release date: April 14th 2016) at GSC and for every ticket of it sold, RM1 will be donated to the National Autism Society of Malaysia (NASOM) to fund its cause. The film is directed by Tunku Mona Riza who wanted to highlight the plight of families and individuals with autism. The story is about a couple and their autistic son. Check out the trailer below;
