Passport International Beerfest (PIB) brings global experiences to Malaysia

passport international beerfest malaysiaA couple of weeks ago on September 22nd at TREC KL, Heineken Malaysia Berhad introduced a brand new celebration called Passport International Beerfest (PIB) to replace the all-too-familiar Octoberfest with a new level of all-out celebration of Heineken Malaysia’s range of beers and ciders from the Netherlands, England, Ireland, Germany and Asia plus live experiences and cultures of each of these countries.

Besides enjoying the great beers and food at the country-themed bars, taverns, bistros and pubs at TREC KL, the eventful night was like a festival, filled with music, dance, stilt-walking, juggling and magic performances as well. The presence of Irish models along with brand ambassadors who dressed up in Japanese and German traditional outfits further enhanced the multi-cultured feel of the event. And that’s not all. There were also activities where guests could participate on stage at each outlet to win some prizes.

Heineken Malaysia’s Head of Trade Marketing, Tai See Wai, said, “We aspire to bring our consumers a bigger, better and improved experience through a virtual reality globe simulator. This digital experience will give our discerning drinkers an opportunity to explore another country and its culture while enjoying our brews at the same time.”

“On top of that, consumers will not only be enjoying attractive promotions but will also be able to own a set of six limited edition Passport International Beerfest collectible mugs as memorabilia throughout the celebration across selected outlets during this campaign period,” he added.

Due to the long queue, it was unfortunate that I didn’t get to experience the 4D virtual reality globe simulator while I was there but thankfully we could all still experience it at home via YouTube using Google Cardboard VR device (can be easily homemade). Very cool! There was also a selfie station where guests could instantly snap some funny photos, compile into a video and upload to preferred social media channels. Here’s one that my girlfriend uploaded to Instagram;

When it’s time to head home, guests had the option of using PIB’s exclusive promo with GRAB. This event was only the start of the whole PIB campaign that’s currently ongoing. To find out more, be sure to check out PIB’s official Facebook Page.
