As most of you might know by due to the virality of the news, one of Square Enix’s lead game designers on the culture team who’s heavily involved in the making of Final Fantasy XV (FFXV), the RPG video game, is Wan Hazmer from Malaysia. He managed to put in some Malaysian culture into the game and we can already experience it as early as Chapter 2 when the player visits the (fictional) city of Lestallum.

Wanna see some of the Malaysian stuff in the game? Check out the following video and allow me to take you around Lestallum;

Apparently there’s bao (buns) as well in the game but I don’t think I’ve seen it yet. Will update here if I do. As a long-time fan of the Final Fantasy franchise, I’m absolutely enjoying the game thus far and although I do plan to do a full game review, I don’t think it’ll be anytime soon as there’s just too much to explore, see and do in the game. I think it could take weeks to finish if you don’t rush through the story… and have a job.
