28 movies from ASEAN countries and China lined up for ACFF 2017 in Malaysia to be screened and judged for awards

In conjunction with the 50th anniversary of ASEAN, the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) organises the inaugural ASEAN-China Film Festival (ACFF) with the China ASEAN Association (CAA) and SAPPRFT (go Google what it stands for if you really wanna know).

To be held in Malaysia, all 28 film from ASEAN countries and China will be screened for free on December 3rd and 4th at GSC Mid Valley KL, Pavilion KL and MyTown Cheras. Eight of the titles are from China and about one to four are from each of the 10 ASEAN countries.

Malaysia’s two films are this year’s Shuttle Life and Modern Day Love Stories. Chinese titles with popular actors include Jackie Chan’s Kungfu Yoga, Andy Lau’s Shock Wave and Saving Mr. Wu, Huang Xiao Ming’s Xuan Zang (no monkey involved) and Wu Jing’s Wolf Warrior 2. Singapore’s new Ah Boys to Men 4 will be screened for free as well!

The exciting thing about ACFF, apart from free movie screenings, is that there will be an award ceremony where one film from every participating countries will win Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress and Special Jury Award (every country wins means lah basically). And that means the directors and actors might make an appearance at Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC) on December 4th for the ceremony!

Ticket redemption for the free screenings begins on December 1st. Each person can redeem two complimentary tickets from the box office of the mentioned GSC outlets. Every title will only screened once at one of the locations only.
