Coca-Cola Stevia now available at 7-11 in Malaysia and soon at all major retailers

We have “Coke Light”, then “Coke Zero Sugar”, and now “Coke Stevia” with apparently 35% less sugar but delivers the same taste as the original Coca-Cola Classic, produced with a combination of sugar and the natural, no-calorie sweetener derived from the leaf of stevia plant. The Stevia plant is from the chrysanthemum family and its leaf is a unique source of intense, natural sweetness.

In Malaysia, we know that consumers are increasingly concerned about sugar, and they want greater control and choice. Some consumers enjoy the taste of our beverages but would like to reduce their sugar and calorie intake.”

He added, “This is the reason why we decided to introduce Coca-Cola Stevia, which has the same great taste they would expect from Coca-Cola Classic, but with 35% less sugar, achieved by using a combination of sugar and the natural sweetness of stevia now, to give consumers even more options, and they can better choose whichever Coca-Cola suits their taste, lifestyle and diet – with or without sugar, with or without calories.”

This newly introduced Coca-Cola Stevia is now available at 7-11 outlets nationwide and from March 2018 onwards, it’ll be in all major retail stores.

I have tried it myself and I think it does taste the same as the usual “Coke”. But there’s also this slight feeling that it’s a bit different. Maybe that’s just a psychological thing ’cause I knew it has lesser sugar before tasting it. Regardless, if you’re conscious about sugar intake but don’t really like the taste of Cola-Cola Zero Sugar, Stevia may be your new go-to “Coke” now.
